Galway City Council, as a local authority, performs two roles:

Galway County Council is responsible for the administrative area of County Galway, excluding Galway City and Ballinasloe Urban District.

Roscommon County Council plays an active role in supporting existing and prospective businesses throughout the county. The Business Support Unit acts as a single point of contact for businesses in County Roscommon accessing County Council services.

Mayo County Council is responsible for providing a number of services to the county, including protecting the environment, fire protection, agricultural services, planning, road maintenance, enhancing the cultural and artistic life of the community…

The Galway County & City Enterprise Board (GCCEB) is an Enterprise Development Agency co-funded by the Department of Enterprise, Innovation and Jobs and by the European Union.
